The people who answer the phone
Fourteen people in two Indiana offices. Locally owned since 2002, with staff turnover under five percent a year.
Started as a repair shop. Grew by referral.
Troy Holwerda founded Proxurve in 2002 as a break fix technology support group. It grew, largely because clients told other people about it, into a complete managed service and security provider.
The name is a blend of proxy, acting as your advocate, and serve, to assist and support. Twenty plus years later that is still the whole idea. We believe information technology should be a toolkit that lets people do meaningful work, rather than a source of complexity and rising cost.
Our staff turnover runs under five percent a year. That is not a vanity number. It means the engineer who knows your environment this year is likely to be the one who knows it next year.

Proxurve leadership.
The three people who join an Executive Leadership Conversation, alongside Brian.

Steve Orander
Steve spends his time with other business owners looking for ways to help them refine and grow their businesses. His technology background helps, but it is his understanding of company culture, best practice management and cash flow balance that tends to shape a client conversation. Outside work he is with his wife, kids and grandkids, and serves on the board of local not for profits he believes in.

Troy Holwerda
Troy founded Proxurve Solutions as a break fix support group and grew it into a full managed service and security provider. His ability to talk to business owners about return on investment rather than specification is unusual in this field. As Vice President of Technical Services he oversees all technical staff. Diego, his dog and the company mascot, is usually alongside him.

Nicole Shaffstall
Nicole works with clients to design and implement technology that works and also brings genuine value to the people using it. Her background is in the medical field, which gives her a useful eye for where technology and human beings actually meet. She enjoys woodworking, snow skiing and time with family and close friends.
Consultants, engineers and the helpdesk.
Eleven more people across Indianapolis and Lafayette. First name and last initial, which is how they introduce themselves on the phone.
Brian B.
Over thirty years in technology. Brian works directly with business leaders to find ways to use technology that create a secure, compliant and efficient environment. He stays active through weightlifting, continuing education, chasing his Labradoodle and time with his family.
Doug T.
A Ball State graduate in Management of Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. Connecting companies with the right technology is Doug's particular interest. Outside work: photography, disc golf and drums.
Eric W.
Eric works with business leaders, clients and vendors to bring a conversational approach to IT management. One of his strengths is building customised solutions that fit real budget parameters. Family, golf and boating fill his off hours.
Randy W.
Two decades across a wide variety of environments. Randy's strengths are cybersecurity and firewall management alongside software development and automation, and he is unusually good at explaining complex issues to people who are not technical.
Jodi H.
Jodi has been with the team since 2010, building relationships with both vendors and clients. She enjoys finding the right technology fit for everyone in a field that keeps changing.
Blake W.
Blake enjoys helping clients get past their technology problems and appreciates that the field never stops moving. In his free time he works out, rides motorcycles and works on cars.
Paul O.
A US Navy veteran with thirty one years of experience in PC repair, going back to DOS 3. Paul specialises in laptops and data recovery. He and his wife enjoy camping, fishing and films.
Alex T.
Alex joined Proxurve in April 2023 and enjoys the team dynamic. He completed an Associate of Sciences at Ivy Tech and is continuing toward a Bachelor's. His interest in technology comes from wanting to help people.
Alan G.
Alan looks for ways to help others through problem solving and adaptation, and found information technology a good route to both learning and helping. Outside work he enjoys his family, digital art and creative writing.
John S.
John focuses on front facing client service, and his hands on approach keeps expanding what he knows. His free time goes into illustration, music and graphic design.
Ashton M.
Ashton is on the helpdesk team, focused on hardware troubleshooting and repair. He completed an Associate's at Ivy Tech with a Bachelor's to follow. Gaming, car shows and friends fill the rest.
